What could we create if the right ideas met the right people, resources and connections?

Join us for a day of inspiration, exchange and collaboration at Asiat Park in Vilvoorde!

A new three-year collaboration will bring new expertise on sustainable mobility and urban transitions to MOBILISE and the House of Sustainable Transitions. We are delighted to welcome Prof. Kirsten Heikkinen Dodson from Lipscomb University to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) for the next three years. Dodson’s appointment is part of VUB’s new US Research Chair programme, established with the support of the Helios Foundation. The programme brings leading researchers from US universities to Brussels, creating new opportunities for international collaboration on climate, sustainability and wellbeing.

A sustainability tour across VUB

Move beyond surface-level solutions. Learn to host transformative change with Factor 8, practical tools and a community of peers. Starting 23 September, this training trajectory by VUB's HOST combines in-person days, online learning, and a retreat to give you practical tools for driving real-world sustainability impact.

A mobile kitchen travelled through four Brussels neighbourhoods to cook affordable plant-based meals with local residents. Together, we explored culinary traditions, shared food stories, and created a free recipe booklet that celebrates Brussels’ diverse food culture.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new book, "Land of Hope”! A collaboration between experts, pioneers and students creating together a new story for a sustainable world.

The House of Sustainable Transitions (HOST) brings together more than 200 scientists from diverse disciplines, including climate science, politics, social and economic sciences, law, biology and the humanities.
